Koon started releasing his own original music back in 2016 and has been off to the races ever since. Sam's powerhouse vocals intertwined with his R&B/Pop and Country sound has captivated listeners across the country.

With his single "Second Chance First Dance", Sam tells the remarkable true story of finding himself and getting re-married to his ex wife. A deep and personal song for Koon, he dives deep into his journey filled with ups and downs that continues with a happy ending... or new beginning. There is no genre with better and meaningful storytelling then what you find in Country Music. Truly the best. "Second Chance First Dance" was written by Sam Koon and Alex Pennington Smith and produced by Smith. This track was released on June 21st, 2024.

And how you got here in my arms again

Still trying to make it all make sense

But if God can fix a broken man I’m willing to bet he can

Give us a second chance first dance

"The second half of the chorus explains the disbelief I felt knowing just how lucky I was to have a second chance at marrying my ex wife. Through our divorce, God helped me navigate through severe depression, equipping me with wisdom and unconditional love for my wife and also for myself. God became the center of our marriage." - Sam

I really hate you

Hate you ever had to make the move

To damn near Alabama

Took the boys to stay with Nana

"Verse one starts at rock bottom when she left with the kids. For a while it was disbelief and denial, which eventually led to acceptance that it was over." - Sam

So glad we moved out of that house

Ya never really liked that house

Must be doing something right somehow

‘Cause your mama started coming ‘round

Can’t believe the way it all worked out

Never thought that I’d be here right now

There ain’t a single drop of doubt

We’ll be stronger this time around

"The bridge fast forwards to the present and talks about the fresh start we got in our new home. We witnessed a lot of family and friends, one by one become believers in our story." - Sam
