When I brought this idea to Joybeth and Hunter, I wanted to tap into the emotion of a traveling musician. Since we are constantly on the road and love sometimes seems to fall through the cracks, it’s when you're constantly trying to get to the step career wise. It seemed like the perfect way to set up the chorus and tie the story together!”

"I remember when we came up with this lyric. Someone said it and I was like- we HAVE to incorporate it somewhere! It kinda hit home for me because it's a representation of something that’s supposed to last forever. Even as the tree grows, the names continue to grow old with it. Using it as the first line of the chorus really introduces the hurt that this woman is feeling after losing her world to someone else."

“This is probably my favorite lyric within the song. When we solidified the hook in the writing room, everything clicked. The idea of it being “His and someone else’s” rather than “His and mine” was the perfect way to spin this idea…"
